Dry Weather Enclosed Drain Sampling
There are 29 tributary drains within the Bear Creek district. Most of these drains (43 miles) are enclosed and can not be physically walked, as described in the open drain sampling. The outlet of each of these drains, shown on the map below, was inventoried, field screened for ammonia, surfactants and conductivity and sampled for E. coli during dry weather.
The results to date showed that three drains had elevated levels of E. coli. These drains have been placed on a "priority list" for future follow-up.
Click on an outfall ID on the map below for individual results for depth of flow (inches), conductivity (µS/cm), temperature (°C), ammonia (ppm), surfactants (ppm) and E. coli (colonies/100ml).
